Wedding Photography Across Traditions in Bangalore
Eight years of shooting weddings in Bangalore means I've been inside almost every tradition — Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Tulu, Christian, Kodava. Each has its own rhythm. Once you know that rhythm, you stop missing shots.
🪔 South Indian Weddings
The oonjal, the koorai sattai, the nalangu — I know these rituals well enough to anticipate them. The best South Indian wedding photographs happen in a 2–3 second window. You either see it coming or you miss it.
🌸 Hindu Weddings
I always slow down for the saptapadi. Seven rounds — I want a frame for each one. That said, the mangalsutra moment is always the first thing families ask to see when we deliver the gallery.
⛪ Christian Weddings
Church light is tricky — high ceilings, mixed sources, no flash during the vows. I've shot in enough Bangalore churches to know which spots work. The vow exchange happens fast. You need to already be in position before it starts.

I started SunGlam Films because I wanted to shoot weddings the way they actually happen — emotional, unpredictable, real. Not the version where everyone lines up and smiles for 45 minutes. We shoot on Sony and Canon mirrorless systems, but the camera is secondary. What matters is knowing where to stand and when to press.
Grand wedding at the ITC Windsor or a small ceremony at a family home in Malleswaram — both get the same focus. The setting changes, the approach doesn't.

The film is what most couples remember us for. We shoot 4K with cinema lenses and gimbals — yes, the gear matters — but the real work is in the edit. Picking the 5-minute version of a 10-hour day that actually makes you feel something. That's where most studios fall short, and where we don't.
The highlight reel goes out within 2 weeks. Music is chosen with you — we're not putting the same track on every wedding. The goal is something you'll still want to watch on your fifth anniversary. Most couples tell us they do.
